PICPOD1: Sepsis, Circularity, and ROC curves

PICPOD 1 is about the definitions of sepsis in children. What are they, are they valid, or are they circular? Should an outcome be a part of a definition: is this necessary or is it circular? What is an AUROC curve, how are they displayed, and how should they be displayed?
